I served on a parent volunteer committee in charge of the Fullerton Elementary yearbook. Fullerton had a superhero theme going in their hall decorations throughout the 2016-17 school year, and so I created a yearbook cover that fit that theme.
I referenced a Marvel comicbook cover for content, layout and typefaces. The UPC symbol includes the start and end dates for the school year (8-2016 and 6-2017) and school's ZIP code.
I served on a parent volunteer committee in charge of the Fullerton Elementary yearbook. This cover design was meant to be an option to fill out the voting page that was given out to the fifth graders, the expectation being that the winner would be one of the fancier designs that matched the "Fifty Nifty States" theme going in the hall decorations at the school. The fifth graders picked this one, however, showing that sometimes the simple design is the best design.
Most of the franchise websites used this layout, with a customized banner showing a landmark of the franchise's area.
